From the beginning
This is a story about what I had to go through at a very young age that relates to foster children When I was eight years old, my brother and I went into the foster care system. Our foster family provided us with food, comfort, and protection. I was so grateful to sleep on a fresh clean bed the first day there. I was nervous coming into a new home, but I got used to it while the days passed. I never really understood the foster program. I thought it was a permanent home for good. I realized as a year passed my foster parents were like my mom and dad. They were not just my foster family, they were my real family. I grew to love them. I never thought that I could love someone that I barely knew in my life. It is amazing how great things can happen when you least expect it. When I was ten years old I said goodbye to my birth mom. She could not take care of me and my brother anymore. I was very heart broken. I was still with my same foster family. A year later an amazing thing happened, our foster family adopted me and my brother. I was so happy to know that I was loved and cared for. Being adopted was the best thing that has ever happened to me. For once in my life, I was a completely different person.I felt safe and secure and knowing that I won't be heartbroken anytime soon. I want you to make a change. don't let a child go through what I went through.

My project is going very well. I started a household drive where people can donate clothes, school supplies, and bathroom items to Foster Closet; which is a organization that provides to Foster children and parents. Some difficulties I've had is trying to find ways to spread the word out to others so they will know about the donations. I'll try my best to keep you posted on my blog. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. God Bless and have a great day!
- Jamie :) So far I have been trying to make posters and I hope that it will catch people's attention. I want these posters to make a difference. I'm going to be putting posters up soon.
